Welcome to the homepage of the Nonlinear Dynamics Systems Laboratory which is founded in 2007. Nonlinear Dynamics Systems Laboratory takes part in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University. The group is directed by Assistant Prof. Dr. Mustak E. Yalcin.
Nonlinear Dynamics Systems Laboratory Mission Statement : The natural phenomena we are observing each day, the social interactions we are taking part in, our own thoughts and behaviours; to understand, comprehend and predict all of these and the likes has attracted the interest of mankind from the beginning. Of course, in different disciplines, this general problem had been dealt with different assumptions and restrictions and considering various approaches and methodologies. One general way to built up a model for all these different processes is to obtain mathematical relations based on the observations. This approach which has been used since Galileo* is accepted without any doubt in this era of knowledge. The methods developed for the nonlinear dynamical systems are versatile in building up mathematical models to explain many processes. Furthermore, the approaches developed for the analysis of nonlinear systems helps us to comprehend and predict the behaviour of different processes modelled in this way. The work carried out with in the nonlinear dynamical systems group deals with problems not only in different research areas but also in various levels. These ranges from realizing electronic devices for chaotic oscillators to synchronization of complex nonlinear systems which found application in many different fields as analyzing the behaviour of biological systems at cell level to developing new approaches in signal processing. *"Language of nature is mathematics", Galileo
